I think this is interesting. I like manifestoes. Sadly, this has helped create some pretty bad/boring movies.

I made Jacob watch a Lars von Trier movie once and I didn’t think he would ever forgive me.

well, the lar von trier movie we watched (“element of crime”) was made well before this manifesto. *shudder* oh, but i hated it.

I like the vow of chastity they use in “Cecil B. Demented.”

And I like manifestoes… but this reads like a recipe for making shit movies.

They left out the bit about the thousands of dollars it takes to be registered as a dogma film. What is it with Europeans and their manifestos? And they say Americans talk to much!

you should watch harmony korine’s movie “julien donkey
boy”
when i watched it at the village theater, there were two
other people there when the movie started, and they both
left less than halfway through the movie.

i don’t know if i’m really recommending that you watch it.

Why are people always telling me that i should see that guy’s movies? Do you know, at least three different people told me specifically that I should watch Gummo. I ask you, what it is it about me that would be associated in their minds with that?

i only suggested it because it’s a dogma 95 film.

i would never tell you that you should watch gummo.

I hate any manifesto that might prevent me from seeing the new Harry Potter film.

I read ‘crack up at the race right’ by Korine. That was crap too.
