‘Are you catching my drift, Mr. Wataya?’ I went on. ‘I know EXACTLY the sort of man you are. You say I’m like garbage or rocks. And you think you could smash me to bits anytime you felt like it. But things are not that simple. To you, with your values, I may be nothing but garbage and rocks. But I’m not as stupid as you think I am. I know exactly what you’ve got under that smooth, made-for-TV mask of yours. I know your secret. If I wanted to, I could tell it to the world. I could bring it out into the light. It might take time, but I could do it. Make sure you keep that in mind.’
credits and info
- Site hosted by dreamhost. They are dreamy.
- Pages designed using notepad and sometimes wordpad when fhazel needs to do a search and replace. Jacob swears by ultraedit32 because it’s jesus-powered. Which is pointless as he swears and is therefore going to Hell. Update: Jacob has renounced jesus and now swears by vi because it’s cryptic but ubiquitous, like Catholicism.
- Practically everything on this site is brought to you by SNF Labs, all through the magic of PHP, Smarty, and MySQL.
- Images created in Photoshop, and we like it.
- We don’t like the Army. Who cares? What Army?
- Stop it! Stop it! We don’t like it.
grue york times
- Main news and archives managed with Movable Type, which we once liked but have been trying to dump for years.
- Record reviews generated with Newspro, using the News Preview 1.2 add-on.
shoplifters, link-o-matic, 15 ways
- The link-o-matic and Shoplifters, Unite were both inspired by a secret web site created by Andre Torrez. [this is good]
- The drag and drop code for 15 Ways was adapted from a technique demonstrated by Jon Rogers, which in turn uses youngpup’s DOM-Drag library.
SNF wiki
- For text formatting, the icky wiki uses Michel Fortin’s PHP Markdown, which is a port of John Gruber’s Markdown.
cave of monsters
- The previous version of the cave of monsters chat room, now defunct, was based upon chatter 1.0, by pushby, with some SNF-specific modifications provided by SNF Labs. A future version of the cave of monsters will one day exist.
login system
- The SNF login system was also written by SNF Labs. Its Movable Type integration was a tricky business, and would have been impossible without the handy Everything TypeKey wiki and a slightly customized version of Stuart Parmenter’s tk.
search
- The SNF site search uses search results provided by the Yahoo API.
spaceship no future weblogs
- Visit SNF’s companion site, chompy.net, to read the journals of your favorite chompers. If you want your own free blog, ask Jacob. If you want to pay for your own blog, try TypePad or TextDrive.
